Remote management is a type of software that helps managed IT service companies keep an eye on the computers, networks, and endpoints of their clients from afar. We provide the tools needed to efficiently monitor and manage environments. However, this article has included information on the best remote management software, PC, and Remote Management Software for free.

Remote Management Software

Remote management software is the term for handling IT systems from outside of the building or on-site premises. IT workers, like those who work for managed service providers (MSPs) or in-house IT departments, use a wide range of computer software. These software programs are installed on client computers and servers. These applications collect data about the software and hardware that are running at the client’s address and send activity reports to the IT service provider. The tools include a set of IT management tools, such as trouble ticket tracking, remote desktop monitoring, support, and user information through a full interface. IT professionals can fix any problem at any time with these tools.

What Does “Remote Management” Mean?

Remote management is the proactive tracking of the state of a machine or network from a distance. This helps to improve the performance of the technical support people we already have and make better use of the resources we have.

Best Remote Management Software

Every product or service we review goes through hours of testing, so you know you’re getting the best remote management software.

#1. LogMeIn Pro

LogMeIn Pro is a popular remote management software that is ideal for large enterprises. Even though it can be attacked for being a bit pricey, you should know that it comes with a wide range of tools for business users. In addition to remote access, these tools have powerful features like the ability to use multiple monitors, allow an infinite number of users, and print from a remote location. On top of that, all three levels of each package include useful tools like 1 TB of cloud file storage, LogMeIn Antivirus, and the password manager LastPass Premium.

#2. TeamViewer

TeamViewer is an effective software for remote management that allows you to connect and disconnect from computers, mobile devices, network machines, and more. It is also very common, with more than 2.5 billion connected devices and up to 45 million users at the same time.

In fact, this business says that it works with 130 different devices, which is more than twice as many as its closest competitor. Unfortunately, the level of compatibility with the effort needed to make this all work increases the cost, which is already quite high.  Personal users can choose between two forms of TeamViewer. Businesses and other commercial users, on the other hand, will need to sign up for an enterprise subscription plan. TeamViewer is quite expensive, but it works well with a wide range of platforms, including mobile devices and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

#3. Remote Desktop Manager

Remote Desktop Manager is an effective piece of software for managing computers from afar. It has solutions that can be scaled up for big businesses. Also, it works with both Android and iOS devices, and it has a lot of great security features. It says that there are 800k people in 140 countries around the world.

There is a limited free plan, but it lacks nice extras like integration with a password manager, role-based access control, and two-factor security. Users will likely look into the paid plan because of these missing features, but Remote Desktop Manager is a bit pricey, and there is only one plan, the Team Plan, which has a 30-day sample. Custom enterprise-level solutions are also possible.

#4. Splashtop

Splashtop is a flexible PC remote management software with a lot of great features, such as a user-friendly design and great security. It works with most popular operating systems, like Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android. It has more than 30 million users worldwide who have used it for more than 800 million sessions, which is a huge number.

Splashtop has a number of specialty versions, and we like that each one comes with a free 7-day trial. However, it can be hard to know which one to choose. The cheapest Splashtop plan, Business Access, allows you to access a certain number of computers remotely and gives you a saving of up to 25%. Next is the Splashtop SOS plan, which costs more and includes “attended and unattended remote support software.” The best plan is the Remote Support one, which can help up to 25 computers and includes endpoint control software and remote support.

Even on the basic plan, there are more than enough ways to get help. We found a search box to find information in the Knowledge Base, a community forum, and several articles about different themes. Aside from the self-help, we like that there is a support portal where we can send a request, a chat box, and a direct phone line, which is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.

PC Remote Management Software

Remote management software enables IT experts to debug remotely. You can do jobs related to computer maintenance from afar. There are a lot of PC remote management software tools on the market, and it could be hard to choose one for your job.

#1. AnyDesk

AnyDesk is PC remote management software that works on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. The software allows you to connect to PCs from anywhere and share your desktop, get virtual help, and give online presentations. Because it has native apps for iOS and Android, users can handle remote desktop operations while on the go with their phones and tablets.

AnyDesk works with a few easy steps. Users must first turn on the desktop app on their devices before adding the AnyDesk ID shown on the remote side. Users can view the remote device safely once the connection has been confirmed. This alternative way to work from home is great because it is easy to use, helps teams talk about work-related problems better, and makes it easy to get to data and resources.

#2. RemotePC

IDrive’s RemotePC is another new piece of software on the list that allows systems and devices to be accessed and maintained from afar. The software was made for remote control and communication tools like text chat, audio calls, RemotePC Meetings, interactive annotation, and more. The app’s technology follows the rules of HIPAA and GDPR and uses TLS v 1.2/AES-256 security to send data from one device to another. You can look at it on the web without having to run any special software.

#3. N-able RMM

N-able N-sight helps you keep an eye on computers from anywhere and gives a central IT staff control over the hardware and software. The technology works as a cloud-based service and is made for the next level of security because it can watch and control Windows and Apple devices remotely and in real-time. When organizational peaks happen, its easy dashboard puts the most important data front and center. Also, the Patch Microsoft service makes it easy for MSPs to update all parts of the Microsoft Environment quickly while keeping devices safe and legal.

#4. Workspace One

Workspace ONE is a very effective unified endpoint management system for businesses that want to run a BYOD environment. The manager takes care of PCs and mobile devices, but its best feature is that it can keep business apps and data in a separate area of a device that belongs to a user. Workspace One can also handle equipment in the office that is connected to Wi-Fi and can be worn. The software has a way for an IT expert to handle the screen of a remote device from afar. This tool allows you to use remote control tools to track, stop, or wipe a mobile device.

Remote Management Software Free

The best free remote management software mentioned below only needs a few clicks to get started. You don’t need to know much about computers to use them.

#1. DWService

DWService is a free, open-source project that makes online access much easier. The host installs or briefly runs the program, and the client logs in through any web browser to run commands, control the screen, or control files and folders.

The host has two options: download the DWAgent and run it for on-demand, one-time access (great for tech help), or install it for permanent remote access (great if it’s your own computer).

If you choose “run” instead of “install,” you get a user code and password that the client needs to use to connect to the computer. If not, type in the code that the client gave you so that they can always have access to the host computer.

#2. Chrome Remote Desktop

With the Chrome Remote Desktop app, you can set up a computer to be accessed remotely.

The way this works is that you install the app to get either a random code that you can give to someone else for quick help (you can get that code here) or a PIN that you can use from your own Google account to get on the computer at any time.

To connect to the host browser, sign in to Chrome Remote Desktop through another web browser using the same Google passwords or a temporary access code made by the host computer. Since you’re already logged in, it’s easy to see the name of the other PC. From there, you can just click on it to start the online session.

It doesn’t have a chat feature like other programs, but it’s easy to set up, and you can join your computer (or anyone else’s) from anywhere using just your web browser. Remote access is possible even if the user isn’t using Chrome or has logged out. Since it just runs in Chrome, it may be used on Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebooks, and any other Chrome-enabled device.

#3. UltraVNC

UltraVNC works a bit like Remote Utilities, which is mentioned at the bottom of this page. A server and viewer are installed on two PCs, and the viewer is used to control the server.

At installation, you will be asked if you want to run the Server, the Viewer, or both. Install the Server program on the computer you want to connect to. You can make the Server a system service, so it’s always running. This is the best choice so that the client software can always connect to it. You must install the Viewer part during setup in order to connect to the Server.
