Tears of the Kingdom features a new type of overworld boss called Flux Construct 3. These bosses represent the pinnacle of difficulty for the Flux Construct. Aside from its primary humanoid form, it can also be seen in its arena as a stationary pillar in the center, with its eye surveying its region much like a Beamos. This article serves as a guide on how to design your own game in Construct 3. I also added some tips on how to beat Flux Construct 3 to the article. So, sit back and enjoy your read!

Tears of the Kingdom

The energy block of the Flux Construct III, like those of previous generations, contains a revolving three-eyed mechanism that is the construct’s Achilles’ heel. This iteration of the Flux Construct is the most dangerous because it has the highest health and damage output of any of the varieties and because its energy block always moves around the Construct. When the fight begins in the sky arena, these Flux Constructs may have a Zonai Treasure Chest stuck to their shoulder. The boss fight is designed in such a way that all of Link’s primary powers are helpful, despite the enemy’s seemingly impervious exterior. Ultrahand and Fuse can be used to separate the blocks of the Flux Construct, causing it to collapse into a heap once enough blocks have been taken out or immediately after the energy block has been detached from the rest of the Construct.

However, if Link tries to pull on the energy block with Ultrahand, it will still behave as if it were physically caught, despite the fact that it is now mobile. If the energy block has appeared in that area, Link can use Ascend to leap upward into the Construct and strike it with melee weapons. When fighting stronger Flux Constructs, Link will need to keep watch of the energy block’s movement in order to target it and attack it with arrows until the Construct collapses. Whenever the Flux Construct III is temporarily dazed, Link has an open window of opportunity to launch attacks against its energy block, either until the Construct is destroyed or until it regains consciousness and reforms. From then on, the Flux Construct’s body will morph into various configurations throughout the fight.

More About Tears of the Kingdom

When it reaches around a third of its health, it will transform into its second form, which resembles a plane flying high above the ground with two bricks on top of it. From this vantage point, the structure will launch rows of its blocks in a coordinated assault against Link. Until the energy block moves, the Construct changes shape, or collapses entirely, Link should be able to simply hit it directly with arrows if it appears within the plane formation.

However, if the energy block appears as one of the two blocks on top, Link will need to find a way to navigate himself on top of the Construct in order to easily access and attack the energy block until the Construct collapses. This can be done by using Recall on one of the launched blocks, Ascend to directly jump up through the Construct, or Zonai Devices. Getting to the top of the Flux Construct III is always the best bet, as that’s where Link will have unimpeded access to any area where the energy block might be located.

After losing between half and a third of its health, the Flux Construct will transition into its third and final form, an animated cube. When in this state, the Construct will try to crush Link with its enhanced speed as it rolls in either direction, or it will levitate and try to slam upon Link from the air before returning to its original movement. In order to continue dealing with damage no matter where the energy block is located, it is imperative that at least some of the blocks be removed at this stage of the fight.

How to Design Your Own Game in Construct 3

You need to know how to design your own game in Construct 3. Here is a guide on how to design your own game in Construct 3:

Step 1: Open Construct 3

If you want to develop a game but don’t know how to code, look no further than Construct 3, the most popular game engine in the world. It may be used to create any kind of 2D game and even has some 3D features today.

Step 2: Get Free Game Resources

Kenney.nl is one of the places where you can get your hands on the assets for Abstract Platformer. Kenney’s resources are released under Creative Commons Zero, making them free for anyone to use in their first video game.

Step 3: Create a New Project

Simply give your game a title and hit “Create” after clicking the “New Project” button. You’ve just created your first blank game. The layout view is the primary view in the middle of the screen. The design view is where you put things where you want them. Think of a menu screen or a gaming level as a layout. In certain programs, this would be referred to as a “room,” “scene,” or “frame.”

Step 4: Adjust the Page Size

We’ll need to increase the size of the layout (your initial level) from its preset dimensions. To access the layout’s settings, simply click the space with your left mouse button. Adjust the dimensions to 40002048.

Step 5: Dot in certain 3D Platforms

Just double-click “3D Shape” in the “General” section after right-clicking the layout’s “Add New Object” menu. Once the crosshair appears, click anywhere on your design. Go to the “PNG/Other” folder inside the assets you downloaded. You should expect to see some square blocks here. Start by dragging one of the PNG files onto the program’s interface. Then, in the picture editor’s lower section, choose the remaining faces one by one and repeat the process. Click the x in the top-right corner to exit the image editor.

Step 6: Toss in the Player of Your Choice

The “Player Red” PNG file may be found in the “Players” folder of the asset bundle. To move the newly inserted 3D object, click and drag on one of the players above the layout. The player requires new behavior right now. The actions of game objects are determined by their behavior. A button labeled “Add/edit behaviors” appears when you click the player’s name in the properties bar. Follow the link, hit “Add behavior,” and then double-click “Platform” under the “Movements” section.

Step 7: Build Sturdy Foundations

Finally, apply the “Solid” behavior to your 3D block. This indicates that the player can safely walk on top of the platform.

Step 8: Look at the Big Picture

A right-pointing triangle labeled “Play” appears at the top of the screen, above the design. If you press this button, the player will land inside your cube. The player may be moved left and right and can jump using the arrow buttons on the keyboard.

Step 9: Add More Platforms

Click on the “copy” menu item in the context menu of your right mouse button to duplicate your 3D platform cube. To move the copied text, select “paste” from the context menu. Feel free to flatten the cubes and add as many as you like! Restart the game by pressing play and avoiding the obstacles. However, you won’t find a camera that tracks your every move.

Step 10: Prepare the Gadgets

Pick your player and give them the ability to “Scroll to” from the list of available behaviors. The focus will remain on the player throughout. You can now preview your game with the player following the camera’s movements.

Step 11: Insert Initial Regulations

Now we’ll implement a rule that restarts the game whenever your character leaves the play area. A tab labeled “Event sheet 1” appears above the blueprint view, which you should click.

  • The game’s rules are created on the event sheet. Select “Add event” to begin creating our first gathering.
  • To initiate the conditional, please double-click your player in the newly opened window. Once there, double-click “Is outside layout” under the “Size & Position” heading.
  • Something new has happened, and the responses can be seen over there on the right. When this happens, the game should proceed as planned. Pick the “Add action” button.
  • When you double-click “System” in the add actions pane, the “Restart Layout” option will be revealed within the “Layout” section. To use it, click it twice.
  • Try out your game again in preview mode; if the main character goes off the edge, you’ll have to start over.

How to Beat Flux Construct 3

Like all Flux Constructs, the only way to damage Flux Construct 3 is to aim for its weak area. Multiple Zonai cubes are stacked to form these Constructs. However, one of the cubes is distinct from the others because it has red patterns that resemble eyes. To destroy the Construct, you must aim for the cube with the marks, as this is its single vulnerable spot. The weak point can be attacked with either Ultrahand or arrows.

The third monster of the TotK Flux Construct performs many of the same attacks as the previous enemies in this series, but it varies them enough to be frustrating. If you are unfamiliar with the fundamentals of combat, we recommend preparing at least one powerful melee weapon and reading up on our combat tutorial. Here is how to beat Flux in Construct 3:

#1. Slam Rush

The first strike from the boss breaks Flux Construct 3 into its individual blocks and sends it charging in your direction. It slams its “hands” down onto the floor. To avoid injury, dart to the side and return to the heart as it begins to heal. While you still have time to escape, you’ll need to be quicker on your feet this time because the attack’s implementation in Flux Construct 3 is lightning-fast.

#2. Hand Slam

The boss will raise its right arm and slam down its “hand” at close to medium range, dealing damage similar to the Slam Rush, although not quite as much. If the core is in that arm during the extended windup, it will be easier to grab. That arm also remains firmly planted in the ground.

#3. Stomp

A tiny shockwave, similar to the slam rush, will be generated if you are near the feet of Flux Construct 3 when it reforms. Again, you can escape the assault simply by leaving the area. Stomping slows down the Construct to the point that its core can be grabbed or attacked with relative ease from a safe distance.

#4. Robot

The Robot Form is the default appearance of the humanoid-ish Flux Construct 3. The current iteration of Flux Construct 3 has rather straightforward assault patterns.

Its three primary assaults are:

Overhead Smash: The Flux Construct smashes the earth with one of its hands, dealing tremendous force. This assault is sluggish and obvious in its execution. If a player is looking for a clear path, they can find it easily.

Teleport Slam: Flux Construct will distort, reassemble near Link, and slam both hands on the ground if the player runs far away from the Robot Form. Instead of trying to outrun the Construct, it’s best to weave between its legs whenever possible.

Stomping Tantrum: After Link has been spotted, the Flux Construct will stomp its feet six or seven times, delivering area-of-effect damage in its pursuit. This occurs if you spend too much time gripping the creature’s feet in order to avoid its other strikes. You should get out of the way of the impact.

The first step is to pinpoint the problem area. It’s one of two moving cubes, and it’s moving around very quickly. It can be shaken loose with Ultrahand or shot with an arrow once it has been identified. The Flux Structure will be rendered inert for roughly 15 seconds. Draw your most powerful melee weapon and land as many blows as you can.

#5. Cube

In the second phase, the Flux Construct will change into a giant cube formed by stacking all the smaller cubes. The cube has two different attacks: a slow-moving, rotating attack, and a slam attack in which it jumps into the air and smacks down with great force. As it nears you, the Flux Construct 3 compacts into a cube shape. From afar, this strike poses no threat, but up close, it can kill in a single shot. As a block, the boss moves considerably more quickly, so you’ll have to make extra efforts to maintain your distance.

Smashed Cubes: The cube flies up into the air and crashes to the floor right in front of the player. Running away from the attacker’s range is the simplest way to avoid this attack. Remember that the cube will use this assault several times, and pay attention to your stamina meter as a result.

Rolling Death: As the player approaches the Cube, it spins on its axis and rapidly rotates in their direction. You’ll need a Stamina Elixir during this phase if you want to outrun this assault, and it does a lot of damage.

The cube’s flaw is on one of its sides. Watch for the cube’s vulnerable point as it barrels towards you. Shake it or shoot an arrow at it with Ultrahand as soon as it does. Use your most powerful weapon to do as much damage as you can, then prepare for the next round.

#6. Floating Platform

Floating-platform Link battling a third-generation flux entity. The Construct will now elevate itself into the air to become a platform. This is the most challenging stage since the weak cube is located at the top of the platform, blocking your view. Once again, the platform offers two different ways to harm Link:

Cube Throw: After pausing for a second, the platform releases five cubes that hurtle toward Link. You can choose to weave between the spaces, or you can dodge to the side. The cubes are too fast to outrun the onslaught itself.

Staggered Cube Throw: The platform hurls five cubes at Link once more, this time one at a time. Due to the poor targeting of individual cubes, this attack is simpler to avoid. If you keep moving, you shouldn’t have any problems.

You need to wait for the floating platform to fire cubes at the weak spot. As soon as it happens, use Recall on a cube that has fallen to the ground. Before it begins to move in reverse, climb atop it to reach the floating platform. If you are unable to go to the platform using Recall, you can utilize Ascend to get there. After locating the vulnerable area, continue attacking until Flux Construct 3 is destroyed.
