#1. Single Sign-On “(SSO)”

This feature allows the user to log in to SAP Work Manager from the mobile device/gadget using “SSO”-Credentials (network) instead of the backend ERP username and signal(password). 

#2. Work Order Processing

The initial transfer or synchronization has been performed and the data has been downloaded to the mobile client device. Each subsequent transfer will only download new or changed data to the device.

By default or programming, the SAP Work Manager software determines the task of a work order based on the personnel number from the work order header. The system requires that there be a single assignment field. Work orders can be assigned to a technician in the assignment field task category.

Work orders can also be allocated to the mobile device/gadget based on a specific job type. You can customize the distinctive order type in the settings panel/dashboard in the backend.

#3. Notification Processing

The application mandates the use of a single mapping field assignment. Messages and notifications can be assigned to a technician at the employee field level, workplace level, or any other custom field. Notifications can be accessed directly on the mobile client device.

#4. Time Log

Time logs can be accessed directly by a field technician. You can also record the hours worked from the mobile device, either independently of the work order being processed or in relation to a specific work order, depending on the configuration. 

#5. Attachments

SAP Work Manager supports the display of master data or transaction attachments on the mobile device. Attachment types include Microsoft Office documents, PDFs, and other common file formats including videos, images, and audio files.

#6. Linear Asset Management (LAM)

This is designed to meet the maintenance needs of linear assets. A linear object is a special type of object that has a length dimension associated with it.

This dimension is represented by starting and ending points or by specifying the length of the asset. For the mobile gadget or device, the linear asset management functionality allows the field technician to work on jobs and notifications that have linear device and function locations.  Field workers can create work orders, notifications, time acknowledgments, and material acknowledgments for linear assets.

#7. Inspection Rounds

In an inspection round, identical/similar repetitive activities are recorded and inspections for many various technical objects. These inspection rounds are distinguished and scheduled in the backend.

The ERP system authorizes the user to customize the variant or span of the inspection rounds to download to the mobile device.

This superb system, the Geographical Information System “(GIS)” incorporates hardware, software, and data to collect, manage, analyze, and display all forms of geo-referenced information. #8. Meter Management Component (MMC) 

This allows technicians to access  SAP from a mobile device, with or without network access.

Install Meter Management component with SAP Work Manager to manage work orders of type SM01, RP01 manage, MR01 and SM02.

#9. Crew Management Component

This category is an optional/elective component that permits managers and administrators to manage their crew at significantly lower cost and with greater flexibility. 

When this add-on component is enforced, it includes the following functions to the main SAP Work Manager application: add, delete and select vehicles and technicians from the crew, track vehicle usage using odometer readings and reports, and review and approve the staff time. 

#10. Customer Service Component

This Component is also an elective component developed for use in locations, where some or all of the work of a technician includes maintenance work or services performed under contract for customers or other third parties. If the Customer Service component is installed, you can only view service orders, not work orders.

#11. Vehicle Inventory Function

The vehicle inventory function is used by operators who stock items in their vehicles for use in an appointment calendar(daily use). Vehicle inventory is also used to track tools and other items stored in vehicles. The vehicle inventory function for SAP Work Manager offers functions for stock transport orders and inventory documents.
