AT&T’s Unlimited Elite plan costs $85 for a single line and includes unlimited high-speed data and 40 GB of mobile hotspot use per month. Verizon’s Get More Unlimited plan costs $100 for a single line ($90 with autopay and paperless billing) and only covers 50 GB of high-speed data and 30 GB of mobile hotspot use per month. Verizon, on the other hand, has the fastest 5G service, which it calls “Ultra Wideband,” and it’s available in many more places than AT&T. In AT&T’s favor, their slower nationwide 5G network covers more of the country than Verizon’s equivalent.

Verizon has the better deal—eventually. Its 5 GB Prepaid plan costs $40 a month at first, but a $5 discount for autopay cuts that to $35 after a month. Then, at the 3-month and 9-month milestones, loyalty discounts shave another $5 off to bring the total cost down to $25. This provides access to Verizon’s 4G and 5G Nationwide networks (no usage of its even faster Ultra Wideband 5G in the sections of cities covered by it), as well as the opportunity to spend the entire 5 GB data allocation on mobile hotspots if desired.
For users with basic phones, Verizon’s prepaid plans start at $30 for 500 MB of data.
