A colleague was involved in an accident that kept him from coming to work for a while. During his “sick leave,” she called and pleaded that I help clear her search history from the desktop, which is the company’s property, obviously. She hurriedly gave her log-in details and said, “Better you than our boss”. So, I logged in and helped out like she had asked. Now, she owes me.
If you’re waiting to hear what her search history was all about, I’m sorry, that’s confidential, because “Our boss” or possibly she might get to read this article. Instead, I will be showing you how to clear your own search history. Pay attention!

This is how you can wipe your search history from Bing:
Access your Microsoft account by signing in. Click the three vertical bars that are located next to your login. After clicking View, erase your search history and navigate to another website.
Log in again. This time, you’ll be moved to a new page once you have successfully logged in. Select View, then click the Clear Search History button.

How frequently should I clear my search history?
This varies depending on how frequently you’re online and how frequently you visit the same websites, but cleaning your cache once or twice each month for the average Internet user is better.
Can the WiFi owner see my searches even if I remove them?
Deleting your browsing history is the same way you would delete a message from the “Sent” folder. It’s gone from your end, but the data has already been transferred. Even if you cleared it on your end, your information is still on the WiFi owners’ router records.
How do I delete my information off Google?
To completely delete your data from Google, access Google’s Request to Remove Personal Information form and check the box next to Remove information from Google Search. Following that, you’ll be asked if you want the information to appear in search results and on a website, or solely in Google’s search results. Depending on your choice, you will be given particular instructions to follow.
What distinguishes private surfing from incognito browsing?
Private browsing is the same as using Incognito mode; Incognito mode is only Chrome’s term for it. Your search history and cookies are deleted when you browse in private mode, so if someone borrows your device, they won’t be able to see the websites you visited or the search terms you typed in.
Is the history of your browser trackable?
Your entire internet activity, including your browsing history, can be monitored and stored by internet service providers. This includes the websites you browse and the movies you watch, even when you’re browsing privately. ISPs are able to track and retain this data in the majority of countries, with retention periods varying from 90 days to three years.
How can you determine whether someone is watching your browser?
- Open Chrome browser
- Click More in the upper right corner.
- Look at the menu’s bottom section. You’ll know that your browser is managed if you see “Managed by your organization.”
Is it possible to browse privately with a VPN?
VPN safeguards your devices by enclosing your internet connection in a secure tunnel that only you have access to. This prevents people, such as nosy advertising, from seeing which websites you visit. With a secure Internet connection, every search request and website you visit is hidden from view.
How long does Google keep your search history for?
Google deletes this data after 18 months by default. Users can, however, adjust the deletion duration to 3, 18, or 36 months, or never remove data. Users can also erase part or all of their saved activity at any time.
Why isn’t my browsing history being deleted?
Check that your device and Google Chrome are both up to date. Check that your internet connection is stable (or) try a different network or Wi-Fi to see if that works. Reload the page to see if that resolves the problem. If you’re using antivirus software, disable it for a while and try again.
