The Galaxy S23 Plus lasts 11 hours 24 minutes in adaptive mode and 12 hours 8 minutes in 60Hz mode, trailing the iPhone 15 Plus by about 2 hours. The OnePlus 11 lasts a maximum of 13:10 minutes, an hour less than Apple\u2019s device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to research, the iPhone 15 Pro has the shortest battery life. The device\u2019s battery life was 10 hours and 53 minutes, 40 minutes longer than the iPhone 14 Pro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s totally okay, considering it\u2019s about an hour ahead of the average smartphone on our test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, excellent battery life is mostly defined as 11.5 hours or more. Nonetheless, the iPhone 15 Pro outlasts the Google Pixel 7 Pro by about 3 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you want serious battery life, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the best model from Apple. iPhone 15 Pro Max has 14 hours and 2 minutes of battery life, slightly less than the iPhone 15 Plus but more than 20 minutes longer than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This easily places the new Pro Max on our list of the best phone batteries. No other major flagship phone tested has provided this endurance level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
While the iPhone may have the best overall battery life, Apple overlooked one feature: charging. The iPhone 15 Pro Max maxes out at the same 27W that Apple claims should yield 50% in 30 minutes but only got to 41% in Tom\u2019s Guide\u2019s tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That doesn\u2019t compare to the best Android phones, with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra reaching 57% in 30 minutes and the OnePlus 11 beating them both with a full charge in around 27 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even if the next-generation Android flagships gain only a small advantage in terms of battery life, the charging advantage is significant enough to make the difference irrelevant for anyone who can quickly charge for even 10-15 minutes per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While we\u2019re glad to see the iPhone finally adopt USB-C, we\u2019re hoping for a charging speed upgrade on the iPhone 16 next year to bring it more in line with the best Android offers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If battery life is important, I recommend the iPhone 15 Plus or iPhone 15 Pro Max. These phones are more expensive than the smaller models, but you won\u2019t be reaching for the outlet as frequently during the day. And that means a lot to a lot of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
