Knowing how to mute an Apple Watch is a priority when you start using the device. In this article, we offer a few ways to mute your Apple Watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To mute your Apple Watch, follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. To display the Control Center, swipe up on the watch face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. To activate silent mode, tap the bell icon. The icon will light up and have a slash through the bell once this function is activated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Note that while the Apple Watch is charging, alarms and timers continue to ring, and you can still receive haptic notifications (taps on your wrist). To turn this off, go to the Settings app on the Apple Watch or the Watch app on the iPhone, select Sounds & Haptics, and turn off Haptic Alerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regardless of whether you are receiving an alert, an alarm, or a notification from Siri, you can silence all noises on your Watch by covering it with your palm. Apple advises covering the watch for three seconds, but the moment your palm touches the watch’s face, all audio is muted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note that the exception is alarms. Even with the Do Not Disturb mode activated, they will still sound. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Siri is unaffected by any of the settings listed above. Even with Do Not Disturb or Silent Mode activated, Siri will still speak to you if it hears “Hey Siri” from a distance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
